Introducing the Kuro Chasen, MATCHADO’s original Black Resin Whisk — a modern take on the traditional bamboo chasen, reimagined for today’s tea drinker.
Co-developed over five years with Japanese tea masters and crafted using fine Japanese resin-moulding techniques, this whisk offers superior durability, hygiene, and longevity. Unlike bamboo whisks that wear down, break easily, and can’t be properly cleaned, the Kuro Chasen is dishwasher-safe, resistant to tip breakage, and fully washable, even at the base.
The set comes with a sleek black whisk holder, designed to preserve the shape of your chasen and keep your tea tools tidy.
Whether you're a daily matcha drinker or just beginning your tea journey, this elegant, practical tool is built to last — and built to elevate your ritual.

How to Make Matcha Enjoy freshly prepared matcha by following the simple step-by-step guide below.
Preparation: Warm your tea bowl with hot water. Pour out the water and gently dry the bowl.
Step 1: Using a matcha teaspoon (chashaku), sift two scoops of matcha (about 3g) into the tea bowl. Step 2: Add 60–70ml of hot water (70–80°C). Step 3: Whisk gently at first to dissolve the matcha, then briskly move the whisk back and forth in an “M” or “W” motion until a soft, light foam forms. Finish: When the foam has developed, lift the whisk gently from the centre of the bowl. Drink immediately and enjoy!
